DAY 2 - TEL AVIV

The TravelFit tour kicks off with dinner at the Old Man of the Sea Restaurant in Old Jaffa. We’ll get to know each other over a traditional Middle Eastern feast on the shores of the Mediterranean.

DAY 3 - TEL AVIV & OLD JAFFA

We will start the day with a dynamic flexibility and cardio conditioning workout on the beach. After our workout, we will enjoy a nutritious and delicious breakfast. We’ll take a bus tour of vibrant Tel Aviv, where we will travel to its’ most famous market, Shuk HaCarmel, where Rachael will lead us through the market and discuss ingredients in common Israeli foods and explore their nutritional value. Afterward, we will have time to purchase our favorite items and then head to the beach for a picnic lunch. After a tour of old Jaffa, we will join CrossFit Tel Aviv for a traditional CrossFit workout on the beach. This total body high-intensity workout can be modified to each individual- please do not be afraid to ask for modifications. Following the workout, we have a BBQ and mixer with CrossFit TLV members.

DAY 4 - CAESAREA, AKKO, & SHAVEI TZION

We will begin the day with a morning circuit training workout on the beach, dividing into small groups to learn various total body exercises.  We will then drive to Roman, Caesarea where we will go scuba diving among the submerged ruins of the ancient port. We continue up the coast to Akko where we will explore the underground tunnels and castles of The Crusaders, and the Ottoman bathhouse. We then head to our hotel to have a dynamic flexibility session overlooking the Mediterranean sunset.

DAY 5 - NORTHERN GALILEE & THE GOLAN HEIGHTS

We will start the day with a morning Tabata bodyweight boot camp workout to get our blood flowing and bodies activated for our morning hike at Mount Meron, the tallest mountain in the Galilee. As we ascend this spiritual mountain we take in the magnificent views and fresh mountain air. We will have lunch at Ein Camonim, a goat farm, which provides a broad selection of home-made cheeses, salads, and local wines in a picturesque setting. From there we will continue to Kibbutz Misgav Am on Israel’s northern border for a discussion about the current geopolitical situation. Last, we will ascend into the Golan Heights to Nimrod’s fortress, the biggest castle in Israel. Our boot camp in this amazing mountain-top location with dramatic views out over the Golan offers us a once in a lifetime physical and spiritual connection. We then continue to Kfar Blum kibbutz, known for its red grapefruit, sunflowers, peaches, nectarines and award winning cotton. We will have a delicious dinner and an opportunity to relax and enjoy its famous spa.

DAY 6 - LOWER GALILEE - YEHUDA NATIONAL PARK & THE SEA OF GALILEE

After our cardio conditioning early morning workout and breakfast, we will drive to Beit She’an, an ancient city that thrived in the biblical days of the Egyptian and Byzantine empires. We continue to Nazareth- the city of religion, faith, spirituality and history. Our visit will include the Church of the Annunciation and the traditional site of Mary and Joseph’s home. Lunch today will be at the Herb Farm set in the clear mountain air of Gilboa overlooking the Jezreel Valley, a restaurant specializing in farm fresh Israeli and Mediterranean cuisine. From there, we will continue to the ancient site of Sepphoris, which houses one of Israel’s finest mosaics, locally referred to as the “Mona Lisa of Sepphoris.” After dinner, we will have a dynamic evening of Israeli folk dancing with our local instructor.

DAY 7 - LOWER GALILEE - BEIT SHE'AN & NAZARETH

After our cardio conditioning early morning workout and breakfast, we drive to Beit She’an, an ancient city that thrived in the days of the Bible from the Egyptian to the Byzantine empires. We continue to Nazareth, the city of religion, faith, spirituality and history. Our visit will include the Church of the Annunciation, the traditional site of Mary and Joseph’s home. Lunch today will be at the Herb Farm set in the clear mountain air of Gilboa overlooking the Jezreel Valley. The specialty here is farm fresh Israeli and Mediterranean cuisine. From there, we will continue to ancient site of Sepphoris, which houses one of Israel’s finest mosaics, locally referred to as the “Mona Lisa of Sepphoris.” After dinner, we will have a rousing evening of Israeli folk dancing with our local instructor.

DAY 8 - THE DEAD SEA

We will start the day with a circuit training morning workout, we will incorporate each component of fitness— flexibility, cardio, and strength. Next, we will have a group breakfast before we drive along the Biblical Jordan Valley to the Dead Sea, the lowest point on earth— at 1400 feet below sea level. Once we arrive at the beach, we will have an opportunity to float in its buoyant waters and enjoy a mineral mud bath. After lunch, we will hike in the Ein Gedi Nature Reserve, a dramatic scene of desert waterfalls surrounded by tropical plants. We will then head to our hotel, which is situated at the foot of Masada. We will begin our evening workout in between the mountain of Masada and the Dead Sea, where we will focus on dynamic flexibility and core. We will relax for the rest of the evening in order to prepare for our once in a lifetime hike to the top of Masada.

DAY 9 - MASADA & JERUSALEM

On this special day we will wake up extra early and climb Masada’s snake path reaching the summit for sunrise. We will have our morning workout under the rising sun and among the ancient ruins. This afternoon we drive to Jerusalem stopping in route to visit Qumran, where the Dead Sea Scrolls were discovered in nearby caves. There will also be time to shop for our Dead Sea products. Upon entering the Holy City, we will stop for a viewpoint over the grandeur of Jerusalem. Our evening workout will be in a neighborhood park in the heart of the city. The evening will be free to explore Jerusalem’s active night life.

DAY 10 - JERUSALEM & THE CITY OF DAVID

We will have our morning Tabata body weight boot camp-style workout in one of Jerusalem’s parks, followed by breakfast. Our tour will begins at the oldest part of the ancient city, The City of David. We will wade through the waters of the Biblical Gihon Spring in Hezekiah’s 2700-year-old water tunnel. We will then have free time in the Jewish Quarter for lunch followed by shopping time in the Roman Cardo and the Arab Markets. Our last stop of the day will be at the holiest site of Jerusalem, The Western Wall Tunnels where we will tour the underground excavations.

DAY 11 - JERUSALEM & YAD VASHEM

We will have our cardio conditioning morning workout, as one of our last workouts we will focus and practice the exercises we have learned so far; repeating exercises so participants will be able to continue our practice at home. Next, we will have breakfast and a discussion about contemporary life in Jerusalem and understand the different perspectives with a Palestinian guest speaker. We will continue to the Israel Museum, home to the Dead Sea Scrolls and a model of Jerusalem from Biblical times. We will have free time for lunch at the museum. We will continue to the Yad Vashem, the Holocaust Museum. Our final evening will include an unforgettable night run and a special farewell dinner celebrating our amazing shared experience.

DAY 12 - JERUSALEM & THE TEMPLE MOUNT

We will depart early for the Temple Mount, the third holiest site in Islam. We continue touring the Muslim and Christian Quarters of the Old City, including one of Christianity’s holiest sites, the Church of the Holy Sepulchre. We will stop at the Arab souks for last minute shopping. The remainder of the day will be at leisure to enjoy our last few hours in Israel.

Our rooms will be booked through this night to accommodate late night/ early morning departures.
